IL PRIMO RE , THE FIRST KING
Romulus and Remus, literally overwhelmed by the flooding of the Tiber, find themselves without land or people, captured by the people of Alba. Together with other prisoners they are forced to participate in duels in the mud, where the loser is set on fire. When it is Remo's turn, Romulus offers himself as his adversary and the two collaborating with cunning manage to unleash a revolt, but it is only the beginning of their journey together with the other fugitives and a vestal who wears a sacred fire. Knowing that they have enemy forces on their tracks, they decide to challenge superstition and venture into the forest, where Remo gives proofs of value and conquers the leadership of the group, while Romulus can do little more than recover from a wound. When the fate of the vestal is read to Remus, he decides to challenge the will of the gods.
